International Day of Peace: 2nd February
If you want to practise it at home, you have here the lyrics and the music:
Imagine John Lennon
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…
You may say
I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

LEARN ENGLISH WITH MUZZY

It is sometimes easier to learn a foreign language by watching cartoons in original version or adapted cartoons. Muzzy is a very popular cartoon character that helped children learn several languages, English being chief among them.
CHARACTERS:
Muzzy - a furry green extrarrestrial gorilla
The King - a lion
The Queen - a giant rat
Princess Sylvia - a poodle
Bob - a large mouse
Corvax - a green bat-like creature
Norman - a human
Mary - a human
Corvax's cat
Fruit vendor - a young kangaroo
Judge - a bulldog
PLOT:
The first part of the film, simply introduces the main characters, and their personalities. It is not until later that the actual story gets going. When it does Bob the Gardener decides to elope with the beautiful Princess Sylvia, as the two of them are in love. However, the evil scientist, Corvax (also played by Derek Griffiths) also loves Sylvia, and when he sees her elope with the gardener, he immediately rushes to inform the King and Queen of Gondoland about what has happened. Furious, the King decides they should track the two down by helicopter and catch them. So they do, and when they catch Bob and Sylvia, the latter is taken back to the palace, while the gardener, is taken to jail by the King's soldiers. In jail, Bob meets Muzzy, the titular furry green extraterriestral who informs him that he has been jailed for eating parking meters in the town square. Muzzy then eats the bars to the prison cell, and the two prisoners jump out the window and are free. They head back to the palace… and… (the story goes on)
Here are some of Muzzy's videos in action:
ENGLISH IS MORE THAN A CUP OF TEA

What do you know about English people? Perhaps your only possible answer is that they have tea in the afternoon. However, they have their own habits and traditions.National Days are not celebrated in the same extent as National Days are in a number of other countries. Only St Patrick's Day in Northern Ireland (and the republic of Ireland) and St Andrew's Day in Scotland (from 2007) are taken as an official holiday. All the other national days are normal working days.
England, unlike Wales and Scotland, has no national dress. Some people think men in England wear suits and bowler hats but it is very unusual these days to see anyone wearing a bowler hat.
For example, British food has traditionally been based on beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish and generally served with potatoes and one other vegetable.
The most common and typical foods eaten in Britain include the sándwich, fish and chips, pies like the cornish pasty, trifle and roasts dinners. Some of their main dishes have strange names like Bubble & Squeak and Toad-in-the-Hole. The staple foods of Britain are meat, fish, potatoes, flour, butter and eggs. Many of our dishes are based on these foods.
